I Love My Job!

Image
Hey everyone!! Its been a couple weeks!! Mostly because i havent done much that wasnt normal. I had the opportunity to start doing baptismal interviews, and it was crazy.  I did my first interview a little more than a week ago on Thursday.  I did 5 more on Friday, another one on Saturday and an eighth one on Sunday.  Followed by 7 more this week.  Now ain't that un poco loco.  For the record, that's not normal.  After I got to this area 4 weeks ago, the whole zone starting baptizing a ton!!  ....every area except mine.  Its okay I'm enjoying my time here and doing good work, just waiting on others to acept the good word of God.  But it was pretty cool.  One of them started telling me their entire life story before the interview... then they finished telling their entire life story and it took like 30 min. Other than that, we had to drop some people that were really progressing a lot because they moved away.  Then a couple days later...

A Horse Bit My Comp

Image
Hey everybody! This week has been pretty interesting.  We have been super busy. On Tuesday I did divisions and I was with somebody from Paraguay, and he taught me more GuaranĂ. Wednesday was a very normal day We found a lot of people , but they are not progressing sadly. On Thursday we did a super cool service project we helped some people move, but it was really hard.  They lived on the second floor and there was only a spiral staircase to get up there.  We had to take some boxes and little things down the staircase and it went pretty well until they told us to move the giant cabinet and their bed and the refrigerator. We didn't know how to get those down the tiny staircase so we had to create a full on pulley system - my comp ended up tying the things up and sending everything down. It was really interesting and difficult and crazy to work against the terrible construction mishaps of Paraguay. On Friday we had zone conference and my mission president is really cool....

Changes

Heyyy!!! Lots of changes this week! This week has been crazy awesome.  In one week I have a new mission president, a new area, I'm now training, I'm a district leader, and I went from the smallest town to the big city.  I think a bigger mission shock is impossible. I love it though.  I love my area, my comp, my president, and being a district leader.  It's crazy how much I realize now that I was needing this change.  My new comp is so spiritual.  He's Elder Richey from Bowmont, Idaho.  He makes me steak everyday and loves to take prayer breaks to help us focus in what matters and I love it. Also this area is sweet.  There are so many amazing members that help us with the work and help feed us.  I have lunch with like 10 different families.  There's not a single person breaking the law of chastity or selling drugs to the members (that I've met at least).   Way different than my last area. Anyway, I love the gospel.  Focusin...

Missionary, Kid, Wedding Planning

Image
¡Hola mis queridos friends! This week was hectic!  I've spent so much time trying to plan a wedding or a baptism that I've had several converts ask if I've forgotten about them!  I've spent the entire week filling out paperwork, printing out copies of passports and IDs, coordinating with the judge, answering questions about wedding rings or times or location, making and printing and delivering invitations, redoing the paperwork but better this time, getting a wedding cake and soda and cups and plates to serve them, getting permission to use the church, cleaning and decorating the church,  finding 4 witnesses for the wedding, getting a ride for the 4 witnesses to get to the wedding, finding a dress, and a suit, a tie, a pair of shoes, pants, and a shirt for the couple, preparing an agenda for some songs and talks to be given, and then finally actually participating in the wedding on Friday (during which the lights went out and we lost power for the better part of the nig...
