A Horse Bit My Comp
Hey everybody! This week has been pretty interesting. We have been super busy.
On Tuesday I did divisions and I was with somebody from Paraguay, and he taught me more Guaraní.
Wednesday was a very normal day We found a lot of people , but they are not progressing sadly.
On Thursday we did a super cool service project we helped some people move, but it was really hard. They lived on the second floor and there was only a spiral staircase to get up there. We had to take some boxes and little things down the staircase and it went pretty well until they told us to move the giant cabinet and their bed and the refrigerator. We didn't know how to get those down the tiny staircase so we had to create a full on pulley system - my comp ended up tying the things up and sending everything down. It was really interesting and difficult and crazy to work against the terrible construction mishaps of Paraguay.
On Friday we had zone conference and my mission president is really cool. He is a green beret and he can talk in four languages. He seems really nice and I am excited to be with him.
On Saturday, we had the baptism of our friend Gabriel. He is super awesome. I didn't teach him much, because I just got here, but he really wants to go to the temple, and that is awesome and he came to church in the rain and that never happens in Paraguay because they are scared of the rain.
Sunday was a very interesting day. After the first hour of church my comp had a lot of anxiety. We left and went to the house and I gave him a blessing. It surprised me how specific the blessing was. I really felt God's love for him. The rest of the day was really difficult. My comp had trouble focusing and the anxiety was really, really bad. We ended up stopping for a long time just to pray and to help him re-focus. After the break he got up and saw that there was a horse there. He really likes horses and went over to see if the horse was nice, he put his hand up close to the horse's nose to let it sniff him, and all of a sudden the horse turned it's head and bit my comp's hand. I think the horse broke my comp's thumb and we are working to see if that is true. That's quite the story for him to tell.
It has been quite crazy being the district leader and everything. I have a lot more responsibilities and it is hard to keep track of them all. I feel a little scattered all over the place. Training makes it a little harder to share an equal burden between me and my comp and bad anxiety makes it even harder. Being a district leader is awesome but it does not lighten the load. Also I have just switched wards and they are all super nice but they all have a lack of communication. I've been a little busy so that hasn't been my top priority, leading to a few minor problems. It's all good though, we keep moving along. Of all the people I'm not able to please perfectly, I would say I'm doing my best to please God. So we chillin.
Hope y'all are having a great week! Love y'all!
