A Brief Miracle Recap

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great week!


I had some ups and downs this week.  A few days where I just felt that something was missing because I wasn't feeling super satisfied with the work I was doing.  But, I want to focus on just the miracles because I know that God loves me and is helping me through my lows.


I really saw a lot of miracles this week.  One day I wasn't doing so great, but then I heard my favorite song IN ENGLISH and it really helped me out a bit.  There was another time where we were walking back to the house and somebody stopped us and invited us in for lunch.  That doesn't normally happen, but we were happy to accept.  They started serving us like 5 star quality grilled meat and cake and soda and all the sides.  It was incredible!  They just had extras from a little party and gave it to us.  The simple kindness of people really goes a long way!


There was another miracle I saw, and this one really touched me.  We were sharing with someone named María and she's been through some really tough times.  Her husband just died and overall her life hasn't been super great.  We were talking and really considering dropping her because she wasn't progressing.  I had a prompting to share a quote that I really like from a really random conference talk a long time ago that isn't very well known.  That quote touched her heart!  She changed immediately!  She even accepted a baptismal date when we offered the next day and watched conference!  It was a very special moment for me because I felt like no other missionary could help her like I did!  Who else would know the perfect quote from a conference talk so little known!


It's been a week of miracles!  I'm going through a little rough patch right now but I sure know that God is there and is helping me every step of the way! Love y'all!

¡Qué Pucha!

Hey everyone!  Hope you are well! First I want to explain the title.  Qué is kinda like how, like if I were to say, "How cool!"  Pucha is roughly translated to "the pits."  That's where we were this week... the pits. At least for my comp anyway.  I'm doing totally fine, but Elder Park got real sick this week.   We think he has dengue.  It's been going around here a lot.  It's symptoms are bad headaches, body aches, and overall just feeling really weak and tired.  So Élder Park has been sick like this since Thursday, and we haven't been able to do much since.  The good news... I've slept a lot.  And even better I've studied a lot.  We've been having a surprisingly good time while Elder Park is sick.  We've tried to keep our missionary purpose in mind and honestly I've had some of the best days on my mission recently. Op!

Op! I love that greeting.  Paraguayans are very specific about the way they greet people.  Op is used to acknowledge the presence of someone you know, but you don't necessarily want to talk to them.  It's almost like honking your car horn in passing. Anywayyy.... I hope you're all doing well.  My week went by really quickly.  We honestly didn't see much success.  There are days where I don't see success and usually I know that I could have done better.  This week was different.  I gave it my all and still nothing happened.  My area is the exact same as last week.  But that's okay.  I feel really happy about it.  I was really focusing on my love for God and for the people this week, and I saw the results.  I was simply really happy and ready to serve, success or not. Todos Somos Monos

Hey everyone!  Another week already! Ok... actually I feel like a lot happened this week, so buckle up.  We'll see how long this email is. First of all, imagine this... a Mexican missionary goes to the States for his mission.  He goes to a Mexican restaurant in his first area, wanting a little comfort food to remind of home.  He sees on the menu "Quesadilla".  As he is preparing his freshly learned English to order his food, he remembers that, in English, we pronounce certain letters differently.  He studies the menu carefully, until he confidantly stands in front of the expecting American employee, and orders a "Qu-e-saw-dil-a", carefully saying it the most American way he knows how.  Imagine the reaction of the american employee!  This mexican missionary couldn't even pronounce a spanish word right!  Imagine the mexican missionary and how foolish he feels!
